Düsseldorf, October 2, 2009 
ecotel communication ag, which is listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has reached an amicable settlement with Tiscali regarding a retroactive purchase price adjustment for the acquisition of Tiscali Nacamar GmbH on
February 5, 2007.

In the context of the settlement ecotel has received a cash payment of EUR 1.65 million. The original purchase price for Tiscali Nacamar GmbH was EUR 18.5 million.

'The conclusion of an amicable settlement has helped us to avoid a long lasting lawsuit with the corresponding legal fees. Our liquid funds have been additionally strengthened. Therefore we expect to reduce our net debt to Zero until 2011', says Bernhard Seidl, CFO of ecotel.
A couple of weeks ago ecotel has received a EUR 5 million innovation loan of KfW and Commerzbank for the financing of further growth and new development projects.

ecotel expects to generate revenues of appr. EUR 100 million and to generate an EBITDA adjusted for extraordinary cost and revenues of appr. EUR 5 million for 2009.

ecotel publishes its third quarter figures on November 13, 2009.
