ecotel communication ag presents its financial results for 2008. Revenues grew by 13% from EUR 93.2 million to EUR 105.5 million.
The adjusted EBITDA was on previous year level. EBITDA was EUR 6.0 million and stayed EUR 3.2 million below the previous year level due to one-time-effects. The adjusted EBITDA in 2008 was EUR 6.9 million, which is close to the normalized EBITDA (excluding non-recurring revenues) of EUR 7.0 million in 2007.

In 2008 ecotel booked extraordinary depreciations of EUR 6.1 million for its subsidiaries due to lower growth prospects. Therefore EBIT was EUR -3.7 million after EUR 6.0 million in 2007. The adjusted EBIT excluding one-time-depreciations would have been EUR 2.4 million. Net Income was EUR -4.2 million after EUR 3.3 million in 2007. This amounts to earnings per share of EUR -1.07 after EUR 0.9 in 2007.

The equity ratio decreased from 46% to 41% due to the extraordinary depreciations. Operating cash flow was EUR 6.5 million and was slightly above previous year level. EUR 2.5 million of the cash flow were used for new investments in infrastructure and systems and EUR 4.0 million were used to redeem a part of a credit facility and to pay back interest. Net debt was therefore reduced from EUR 13.9 million to EUR 11.7 million. Liquid assets increased from EUR 3.9 million to EUR 4.2 million.
For 2009 ecotel maintains a positive outlook on the business. Due to the current economic downturn and outstanding decisions on the regulatory side ecotel is reluctant to give a guidance for 2009. Therefore management expects 2009 revenues and EBITDA to stay on 2008 level.
